My Story

Nick is a life-long learner whose passion for people was borne of his 30 plus years in the hospitality and not-for-profit industries. He is founder of a multi-unit restaurant concept and has enjoyed successes in local, state and national social services programs. Throughout and across his career endeavors, Nick has gravitated toward people.

As a 3rd generation restaurateur, Nick pursued this career path despite his academic focus on government and social services. With half a decade devoted to corporate and family-owned restaurant life, he eventually returned to his interest in civic service. Again, pursuing his passion for people, Nick completed a Master of Urban Affairs at Boston University, during which time he was deeply affected by the incidence of homelessness in that city. His experience in Boston led him to his first key position as executive director of an experimental housing program for homeless families. This award-winning program was the launch pad that took Nick to professional leadership roles in both state and national housing ventures.

Returning to the for-profit sector, Nick stepped back into the restaurant industry and a focus on people through positions in operations and training. When the entrepreneurial bug bit, Nick launched his own restaurant concept where he remains engaged as CEO. With the intent to continue developing his professional interests and goals, Nick is currently developing his restaurant brokerage and consulting practice, as well as expanding his new role as a ForumSherpa certified facilitator.

An EO veteran of over 16 years (currently on sabbatical), he served his San Antonio Chapter as Learning Chair, president, and two-terms as Forum Chair. With over 6 years’ experience as a certified EO facilitator and building on his MBA in Organizational Design, Nick refined his skills in guiding Forum teams toward achieving meaningful group and self-discovery. With his unassuming nature, Nick reflects on the power of transparent vulnerability and the sense of connectedness this soulful state of being naturally evokes among peers.

Nick and his wife, Mary, enjoy the challenges of raising their blended family (six boys!), as well as live music, good wine, and quiet movie nights at home.
