Daniel Wang is a passionate and purpose-driven, big-hearted, engineering-trained, conscientious, serial entrepreneur. His top passions include community, collaboration, and connecting brilliant people!
Daniel was actively involved in EO as Membership Chair, Forum Chair and President-elect while he served on the EO Toronto Board for three consecutive years. He also served on the EO Global Forum Committee concurrently.
Daniel’s 30+ year entrepreneurial journey includes:
- a lucrative decade of developing enterprise software including payroll and online trading systems for Fortune 500 companies (IBM, P&G and Nortel)
- a revolutionary decade as co-founding CEO of a vc-backed high-tech, Silicon Valley start-up that he spearheaded from an investment of $2.2M to $30M in just 4 years
- a trendy decade in retail boutique stores including everything from women’s fashion wear to decorating and furnishing homes
- the current, exciting decade of ventures and collaborations revolving around the Sharing Economy.
While Daniel has “kicked it” in entrepreneurship, he has also been cast in TV and films, modeled in commercials, and had his own tail kicked on-set by treasured acting legend, David Carradine.
Daniel enjoys many forms of Latin dancing (social and performance level) and AcroYoga. He has a life-long intrigue with languages including Chinese (Mandarin and Min-Nan), Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Hebrew, Farsi and even Guarani. He believes understanding another’s language is key to understanding their unique culture so he constantly strives to expand the depth and breadth of his fluency in languages.
Daniel is primarily motivated by synergistic business opportunities, especially those that provide collaboration with other exceptionally creative entrepreneurs.
